The answer is this electron micrograph shows a subepithelial "hump“ (D) and a portion of one neutrophil (PMN) in the lumen. Notice the close contact between the
endothelial cell and the inflammatory cell. There is prominent effacement of the foot processes of the
epithelium overlying the deposit, with dense condensation of microfilaments in
the cytoplasm in this area. The patient had diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis.
